There was once a time when I was heavily involved in church, Sunday to Sunday never ever missed a service, reading bible, praying, you name it I was always there living and believing that I was going to heaven and God would save me from all the bad guys around me and I am bound to go to heaven but all this time I was still trying to pick sense out of nonsense, gradually I began noticing things don't seem so right, somethings wasn't adding up.
It all started when I began noticing that every churches I visits, the doctrine was all about money, sort of like 'the more you give the more you get' sort of doctrine, (and yes I know money is essential) and while you sees the leaders growing more and more rich, living in big mansions, luxury cars and the list goes on, there are lots and lots of people around who don't know where their next meal coming from and as a pastor/leader you living in luxury, what I even notice was that some pastors preachers living one way in the church but meanwhile when they are out of the church they carries a different lifestyle, so many people are out there suffering and starving, many are dying of hunger daily and if we who call ourselves the hand of God can't reach out to feed them but instead filling our own thirst for greed, it just don't make any sense, how can we carry on having millions of dollars while another person just die of hunger and you have the money to feed them? One pastor said God want you to be rich but if I can recall correctly didn't the bible spoke about selling your stuff and gave to the poor? Even stated that is is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to go to heaven? But here he says God want you to be rich.
Inconsistencies and contradiction in the bible was another aspect I looked at, when reading through the book that claim was God's word I found alot of contradictions, if it was God's own word, how can one scripture say one thing than the other? Why aren't they able to carry the same message? Plus there were so many heinous and awful crimes, wars, etc commanded by a God who command not to kill?
Then there is logic and science vs what the bible explanations and any right thinking person will see without a shadow of a doubt that science explains many things that the bible gave a fairy tale of, the bible was written during a period when humans never had a clue about how the world and universe works, some religious people are still living by the stupid thought that earth is flat, and others. Some religion will rather watch their kids or loved ones die than to give blood, religion causes numerous wars in the past and even present and will continue.
I never written this to offend anyone, if you love your religion and it works for you then by all means follow it, these are just some of my reasons why I left religion and I'm not going no time soon, to me it just doesn't make any sense, instead of giving any pastor money, I prefer to buy food for that one family who is starving, I'm not going to give you mine money and attention who already have it all, to much people out there who are crying and dying of starvation for me to do nothing.
